What we store
Jitsu Notes stores, tied to your account:
- Your account email address.
- Your training settings (academy, belt level, instructor roster, weekly schedule).
- Training notes, including the structured note content and the turn/transcript history used to build each note while it is a draft.
- Saved video metadata (YouTube video id, title, channel, and similar details) attached to a note.
Saved notes and settings are stored using Supabase, our backend and database provider.
How your data is processed
- Note structuring. When you use the app’s AI-assisted note structuring, the content of the note you are working on is sent to Anthropic to generate the structured result.
- AI response caching. Successful AI responses may be cached for up to 24 hours, solely so that retrying a request that already succeeded does not create a duplicate result. The request bodies you send are not retained in our usage-tracking table.
- Speech recognition. The app does not record or retain audio. When on-device speech recognition is unavailable, your operating system’s own speech recognition service may process audio.
- Video search. When you search for instructional videos, the search terms generated from your note are sent to YouTube (via Google) to retrieve results.
- Operational logs. Logs we and our infrastructure providers keep for operating the service exclude note and transcript bodies — they do not contain the content of what you wrote or recorded.
Account deletion
You can delete your account and its associated cloud data at any time from Settings. When you do:
- Your account and the cloud-saved data associated with it (notes, settings, and related records) are removed.
- We keep a minimal, content-free deletion receipt for up to 90 days so the app can confirm your deletion completed. This receipt contains only an operation id, a hashed copy of the confirmation token used to check on the deletion, a status, and timestamps — never any note content, your email, or anything else about you.
- If a deletion attempt fails, that receipt also retains your account’s user id until a retry succeeds. This exists solely so that a retry can only ever target the same account that requested it, and it is cleared as soon as the deletion actually succeeds.
You can export a copy of all your saved account data (see below) before deleting your account, in case you want to keep it.
Exporting your data
Settings includes an Export my data action that builds a complete export of your cloud-saved notes and settings as a file you can share or save. The export contains only what you actually saved to the cloud — it does not include any active (unsaved) draft, in-progress AI turns, or notes still on your device that have not yet been imported.
